Finding Beauty in Life: Scrapbook Monday: Family Pages

Happy Monday! Just wanted to share a few scrapbook pages I recently finished. Hopefully I'll have time to post more next Monday.

Me & My Dog

The first is a page about my daughter's obsession with dogs. Every time she sees one or hears one, she says "ruff ruff". We're still trying to get her to say "dog", but that's taking a bit more time. ;) She especially loves her own dog, Dexter, and is always asking where he is when she doesn't see him. Every night she has to say goodnight to him. They're very sweet together.

The second are some older photos from last Thanksgiving. I used some specialty transparency paper with gold text, and placed it over some red striped paper to make it stand out. This was stitched to a piece of kraft paper with gold foil polka dots. I stitched some transparency paper onto the upper photo to carry it through the layout.

I used some brown woodgrain paper on the far right side, as well as a photo backdrop for the large photo in the center. I added some gold glitter and foil frames and alphabet, as well as some wood veneer diamonds and hearts.

Lastly, is a page I completed awhile ago but forgot to post. It's an electric design, with bits and embellishments added here and there. This typically isn't my style, but I tried to unify the design with common colors and a shabby chic theme.

For the text on the tag, I typed out the text in photoshop, made sure the overall size would fit on the tag, then first printed on white card stock. I then placed the tag over the printed text to make sure it would fit, aligned the tag where I wanted it, then used wash tape on two edges to hold it onto the card stock. Then I placed the card stock back in the printer, and re-printed the text. Once dry, carefully remove the tape to ensure no ripping, and voila, you have printed text on your tag.
